Network Rail’s Response!

The Parish Council is pleased to report that, following representations by the council, our district councillors and residents themselves, Network Rail has decided not to route lorries through the village for the tunnel repair works taking place at Pankhurst Farm. The new route, using Hubbards Hill and Gracious Lane, is not without its difficulties, particularly the turning at the top of the hill. But the council believes this is an improvement and the best that could be hoped for in the circumstances. There might be some use of the old route from time to time, but the council is asking to be kept informed of any changes. Thank you to all who responded to the plan. The comments clearly played a part in the decision.
